Sasha Yakovleva said that Fred Brown would be a good Buteyko Specialist for me to work on my breathing and he certainly was! He is a kind, gentle, patient soul, that is a wonderful teacher, counselor and guide all in one.
By the second session of my Buteyko program online, I was thrilled to find out that we shared the same faith in Jesus Christ. That was a pivotal point of great joy for me because my faith is my core, the hub of my heart and soul. And with that said, we were able to talk from that point of reference at times as well, in regards to the Buteyko breathing.
The timing of this course was perfect because I had to adapt to some big stressful happenings in my life. I believe that the breathing helped situations not hold such a crisis mode, but that I could stand back and not feel overwhelmed or fearful.
With suggested breathing exercises that I can do anywhere, I have been able to minimize my use of an inhaler with asthma, rarely taking a puff now.
My 16-year cough has not come to a close, but has significantly reduced!
I have not used my CPAP now for two months. I’ve tried paper mouth tape or Somnifix adhesive strips that keep your mouth closed, encouraging only nasal breathing which has been good.
I have learned so much and feel more aware of my body. I now give it credit for its intelligence and respect the symptoms that it has shown me. In that way, I have been able to work with my body as a whole and see it become more efficient and healthier.
I am anticipating further wellness as I continue to practice breath-hold exercises and reach a consistent 40 to 60 control pause range.
I no longer am afraid to think of attending a large event in the future like a wedding or funeral like I used to because my cough was so violently loud. What a blessing to experience the change!
Thank you to my friend Paula who led me to this course! And thank you to sweet Sasha and Fred for this opportunity to experience hope in motion!
Sincerely with love!
