President Putin, Prince Charles and Breathing Normalization
A couple of weeks ago, I was in Moscow watching President Putin
give speeches, speak to journalists, etc. I just arrived in Russia, a place I had not visited in two years. I decided to surf the TV to tune in with the current situation. The President was on the news and, being a Breathing Normalization specialist, I couldn’t help but observe his breathing. To my surprise, it was almost perfect! Putin's breathing indicated reliable health, good stamina, consistent self-control and strong abilities to resist stress. “Is Putin practicing Dr. Buteyko's method?” I wondered.
A few days later, I left for the Ukraine to spend time with Ludmila Buteyko at her beautiful house by the Black Sea. During one of our conversations, Ludmila unexpectedly asked me:
"Do you know that Putin is practicing the method?
"I assume so," I replied.
"Undoubtedly! He is familiar with the method," Ludmila stated.
Next, her mind traveled to 1999, the year when Dr. Buteyko and Ludmila were invited to visit Prince Charles. Prince Charles was tormented by allergies, mainly to horses and parade uniforms. How inconvenient for a royal! By introducing breathing reduction to Prince Charles, Dr. Buteyko was able to help him.
On another occasion, Ludmila shared with me that sometimes Dr. Buteyko would disappear for days. When he got back home, he would refuse to answer any questions regarding his absence. In fact, in Buteyko's household it was considered inappropriate to even mention these occurrences.
"Where did he go?"
"I don't know," Ludmila replied sincerely.
"What are you guesses?" -I kept investigating.
"Well, I know that once in a while Dr. Buteyko was contacted by people in power. Some of them are actually intelligent enough to realize that there is no perfect health without perfect breathing! They needed to learn this method - the most powerful in the world! Buteyko had to accept their requests but was not in the position to share any information."
Aha! - My mind kept exploring the topic. President Putin's career began in KGB where he received special training. He became the Russian President in 1999 when Dr. Buteyko was still active. Was Putin lucky enough to have a chance to learn the Breathing Normalization method?
