I found the Woodstock Buteyko Center when I was looking for an alternative way to treat my asthma. I had been taking medication for 45 years to control my symptoms and started to have serious health difficulties. Problems such as cold urticaria, an auto-immune disease, large kidney stones and finally a cancer scare had plagued my life.
Sasha and Thomas have guided me through the process of becoming medication free.
Their patience and shared knowledge have encouraged me to be successful. I have been a student for two months and already see a difference in my breathing and recovery after a challenge. My hives and kidney stones seem to have diminished and I feel rested when I get up in the morning. My favorite things to do: gardening, running agility and volunteering for a dog rescue have all been major triggers for my asthma and caused me to struggle to breathe. Now, if I take a moment and do a few breath holds, I quickly recover. These exercises have given me the control and confidence that I have been looking for.
I am very thankful for this method and the professionals that have been so supportive to me during my journey. It is nice to know that there are alternatives that can improve the quality of life.
