This process of recovery is a long distance race, it is not a sprint.  If you spend time each day practicing the Buteyko Method your control pause will steadily increase and your overall health will improve.  As people begin to learn about this protocol and implement it, life as we know it in the United States is going to change for the positive. No one is being asked to take another pill, regardless of whether it may be a perscription drug or supplement.  The healing is coming from within the body, it is not coming from a substance outside of the body.  That is why the Buteyko Method is so exciting, the body can begin to detoxify and cleanse as you lighten the load of perscription drugs and supplements.

I was born in Gary, IN; my father worked in the steel mills of Gary and my mother was a stay at home wife and mother, who never enjoyed good health and died at the relatively young age of 65. I was the fifth of eight children and I did not ever enjoy exceptionally good health as a child. I frequently suffered bouts of tonsillitis and then developed allergies at about age 14, and later would suffer from hypoglycemia, asthma, and several immune disorders. I graduated valedictorian of my high school class and went right to work as a secretary. I have had various career opportunities such as administrative assistant, real estate sales, insurance sales but when I was introduced to alternative health and natural healing about 1988, I immediately developed an intense interest in natural forms of health and healing. I have studied in the alternative health field for over 25 years.

I have attended many workshops and completed course studies in nutrition and essential oils with Dr. Gary Young. I owned and operated a health food store for two years.  I wanted to know more about body system and to mesh alternative health with the knowledge available through allopathic medicine, so I enrolled in the Franklin School of Technology Practical nursing program in 1993 and graduated with honors in 1994. I worked for three years as a home health nurse but soon became disillusioned with allopathic medicine (drugs and surgery). I recently completed the Doctor of Naturopathy training from Trinity School of Natural Health and I am currently working on my dissertation on the Buteyko Method while acting as Director of a chain of low income children's dental clinics in Missouri . I have a great passion to help people achieve and maintain optimal wellness.

The challenges I have faced with my own health problems have given me empathy and compassion for people who are suffering and seeking answers to their health issues. I have always believed there was a common denominator cause challenging my immune system and that of many others. The Buteyko Method offers a rational explanation and a solution to health problems that vex so many people. Since starting the Buteyko Method program, I now feel well and experience less stress and sleep better than I have for many years. Truly Dr. Buteyko was a genius who discovered a veritable "Fountain of Youth" for those who possess the intelligence, motivation and discipline to grasp and integrate the Buteyko Method into a permanent routine in their lives. I'm forever grateful to Ludmila Buteyko and Andrey Novozhilov, MD for sharing this precious information with Thomas and Sasha Yakovlev-Fredricksen.

By providence, their desire to take this "Secret of the Ages" to the world coincided with my desperate prayers to God for healing from the asthma problems I had experienced for 27 years.  There are no co-incidences in the universe, we found each other via the internet and I am honored to be among the first graduating class (2010) of instructors certified at Buteyko Center USA, Woodstock, NY.  I look forward to sharing this amazing and health giving information to all who would receive it with joy. After applying the Buteyko Method I am now free of the inhalers and steroids that I have depended on for the last 10 years!
